Unfortunately Apple decided to force iWork'09 and iLife'09 minimum requirements be 10.5.6. This means that you can not use these applications unless you upgrade.... well, not really !!
The truth is that iWork'09 and iLife'09 work perfectly on Mac OS X 10.5.5 !
The truth is that iWork'09 and iLife'09 work perfectly on Mac OS X 10.5.5 !
So, what can you do?
- You can fool the installation setups into thinking you already have 10.5.6 installed!
Here's how:
- Open the folder System/Library/CoreServices, and copy the file SystemVersion.plist to the desktop.
- Open the fle, and edit the strings "10.5.5" to "10.5.6" (x2). Save the file.
- Replace the original file (backup the original first). Insert password when asked.
- Repair the permissions (just in case), and Reboot.
That's it! You can now install the setups as if you had a 10.5.6 Mac OS X Leopard.
Notice:
If you intend to download a copy of iWork'09 or iLife'09, be careful! Many of the copies in the web installs a VIRUS in your Mac. If you are not sure, just get a free anti-virus like iAntiVirus, and run it after the download.
Have iFun!
