As you may know, the Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6 update is out.
I knew my chances of updating successfully were low, since I'm using a hackintosh PC (not a real Mac), installed from the iAtkos 5i distribution. But I couldn't resist, the temptation was too great!
After areading a few warning posts on the web and a few successfull installation reports, I went forward and updated... and it didn't went all that well.
In the end I decided to reinstall Leopard from scratch due the 10.5.6 updater failure.
Simply put: The installation never finished on both attempts, crashing the Mac during installation at different %s of the installation progress.
Between both attempts I had to boot the Mac DVD to remove the power management driver. The Mac booted after that, but beside the Mac reporting version 10.5.6, I knew that version was not real because the updater crashed the Mac with the install progress bar way below 100%.
Anyway, it was bad but not as bad as it sounds, as I had a second chance to test the procedures I've posted on this blog and I ended up with a cleaner Mac.
I also had a second chance with the LCC (Logitech Control Center) drivers which I will be writing about soon.
Meanwhile, I will be searching the web for a 10.5.6 updater that doesn't destroy my Mac...

First of all, thank you for you comment.
If seems you missed all the punctuation, as your comment doesn't make much sense.
Anyway, you are commenting something I wrote almost 2 years ago.
Back then, the MacOSX was Leopard (10.5) today is already Snow Leopard (10.6).
The installation procedures improved a lot since then, and the info as readily available elsewhere in net. That's one of the reasons this blog has not been updated.
If you are still using Leopard, I suggest you jump to Snow Leopard.
Good hackintoshing! :-)
